Cathy’s Collection: Room to Remember Beloved Foster Mom
On April 6th, 2018, as heaven gained an angel, the foster care community lost one. Cathy Miller was a beautiful, shining example of unconditional love. She was a powerful force who gave a home to many, if not in place, most certainly in her heart.
Cathy spent twenty years investing in children through foster care, adoption and safe families. Throughout this time, she housed more than 70 children. She and her husband adopted six beautiful children and her love of life lives on in each of them. Her compassion for others lives on, too.
Cathy’s Collection is a grassroots boutique of new, donated items for kids and youth in foster care. Per Cathy’s request, this collection has been started so that case managers, foster care staff, and foster parents can stop by and pick out an item for a child or family they’re meeting for the first time. They may also “shop” at Cathy’s Collection for something to help a child celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, reunification or adoption.
Keep Cathy’s Collection StockedItems range from fun (toys, toys, toys) and practical (backpacks and notebooks) to necessary (diapers and pull-ups.) If it will bring joy or comfort to a child in foster care, it’s perfect!
